It has been a pleasure to have Mary Catherine serve on the Burlington Historical Society board as a youth director. We wish her all the best as she continues her studies!

Earlier this week the Burlington Historical Society hosted Lake Garda’s second grade field trip to the Elton Tavern and Center Schoolhouse. Hands-on lessons were provided by BHS board members Barbara & Jerry Carchedi, Laurie Arel, Leslie Siek and Beth Salsedo.

The Burlington Tavern Day Logo contest is back for 2019! If you’re a local artist we’d love to see your designs. The winning logo will be printed on beer glasses and other Tavern Day promotional material. See below for contest rules.

On May 17th, BHS President Beth Salsedo and BHS Board Member Sarah McCusker accepted an award and generous donation from the Foothills Girl Scouts during their 2019 Bridging Ceremony. BHS was recognized for the years of support they have provided to the Girl Scouts in our community. Thank you and congratulations to all the girls scouts!!

The second graders at Lake Garda school had a fantastic visit from the Burlington History Society on April 10th and 11th to kick off the Passport Program.

It’s that time of year again! Soon the 2nd grade students at Lake Garda Elementary School will begin exploring Burlington and filling up their passports by visiting historical locations around town.

Important dates to remember!

• April 10 & 11 – 2nd grade classroom visits by the Historical Society
• May 29 & 30 – 2nd grade field trips to the Elton Tavern
• June 3 – All Passports are due to back to the teachers
• June 6 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm – Join us at the Elton Tavern for a celebration party
