Come and visit our town’s iconic schoolhouse on Sunday, July 30th from 1pm – 4pm.

Come visit Burlington’s historic one-room schoolhouse, which served students in grades 1-8 for 150 years. Take a seat at a desk, try out some lessons, and enjoy toys and games from long ago. Explore the historic furnishings and photographs and chat with a Burlington Historical Society volunteer about childhood, education, and life in this small town in the 1800s and early 1900s.

Ever wanted to see inside or hear about the historical raspberry Elton Tavern at the Town Green in Burlington, CT? Or the historic Center Schoolhouse down the street from the tavern? The Burlington Historical Society will have both the Tavern and Schoolhouse open from Noon to 4 pm on Sat., Jun 10 as part of the statewide CT Open House Day. As always, free admission (although free-will donations are welcome). Look around yourself, or take a free guided tour.
